Maths Apps for iPhones

August 18th, 2010 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Just been playing round with a couple of counting apps for my iPhone, called 123 Sheep and some other maths challenges that are coming out soon. They look pretty good. What do you reckon?

And hasn’t edublogs changed…it’s great!

Here’s the ning(thing)!

July 28th, 2009 by · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

Have been having fun playing with a ning this week, just seeing what it can do and how networks grow by osmosis. I like the associative aspects, as it suits how our brains work… (well, before we learned linear step by step approaches anyway).

I’m interested to see how it develops over time and I like the model, where each entity eg. person, business, association, community service etc. can have its own page, so long as it has an email address that can be invited.

And it incorporates the social aspect of linking between friends and sharing interests as well as skills and products.

Lots of web apps to choose from….

Here it is!

Wikis Week 7 #16

July 8th, 2009 by · 3 Comments · Uncategorized

I love wikis because they allow people to contribute and are therefore better for group activities than blogs, (unless using Edublogs – a multi-member blog).

I use them with learners and community groups.

I use wikispaces because it’s the first one I came across and it’s free and easy to use and the best thing is that you can track changes easily and see who’s been making them.

Membership of wikis can be set to be approved by the organiser prior to taking effect, so one still has a measure of control over who joins ones wiki.

Here are a few of the ones I’ve developed, that you can use if you like.

Wikimania ALL about wikis adn Web 2.0 tools for enriching business
Social Computing – - for toolbox developers and teachers using toolboxes and learning objects with Web 2.0 tools for facilitating learning
Learning Design How to design learning sequences for the Web.

Roll over the images.

Sorry this doesn’t display properly..have to work out where to upload and then get the embed code so it plays both screens. If only it were as straightforward as it looks!

Kane Welch Kaplin in Copping? Blogger does the job

October 30th, 2008 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Have been fiddling with a friend’s blogger site helping him promote some americana/blues/roots musos coming to our local hall from the US, in February 2009.

Check out how youtube and google maps go together in a blog posting.

Now just have to get some more sites linking to and from the blog to make it appear in google..well that’s one strategy…anyone know of other ways?
